Jordan Malone

I am a 26 year old native of Denton, Texas and the only child of a single mom. I have lived in Nante, France; Oldebroek, Holland; Long Beach, California; Colorado Springs, Colorado, Salt Lake City, Utah; and now I live in Marquette, MI. I began inline speedskating in 1990 at the age of 5, and participated in my first international race in 1995. I made my first World Team in 2000, and turned professional the following year. In 2001, I earned the title of most decorated junior of all time, and in 2003 I was crowned the fastest man in the world, winning the Senior World Championships. I left the sport of Inline with a total of 8 Junior and 6 Senior World Championship gold medals. I also competed on the Eaglehawk/Miller, Simmons Racing, Rollerblade International and Mogema WIC Professional teams from 1997-2004.

Since my birth into the sport of Short Track Speedskating in 2004, I've been the only skater to compete in all of the past 6 World Championships (2005-2010) for the US, making 2010 my 11th consecutive US World Championship Team including both Inline and Ice. I am the first skater (still the only male) to ever qualify for both Inline and Short Track World Teams, and the only to do so in consecutive years. In the past 5 years, I've achieved numerous World titles, including 7 World Championship medals (2009 Men's Relay GOLD). In 2007 I earned 7th overall at the ISU World Championships, and in 2008 I was ranked 5th in the 1500m, and 6th in the 1000m ISU World Cup Overall classification. I was also a member of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic team where I skated 3 distances, earning a bronze medal in the 5000m men's relay. My unusual life has taken me around the world to over 154 cities in 21 countries on 4 continents, where I have been fortunate to learn so much about life. In the last two years I lived in Salt lake, I started my own business out of my garage. Under the name FCR (Full Composite Racing), I manufactured carbon fiber racing equipment for 80% of the Short Track national Team, including all four members of the 2009 Men's World Championship Relay team.

I am currently a 4.0 student attending NMU in Marquette, MI. Thanks to the USOEC I am able to study Electrical Engineering to pursue my dream of working in the field of Alternative Energies, while training with the US short track developement team. Unfortunately, I have been out of competiton for the entire 2010/2011 season due to an injury, but I plan to make a comeback in the 2011/2012 season. I like to spend my free time like most people my age. I go to movies, hang with my friends, have a few hobbies, and just like being lazy sometimes. Also on my off days (I've put on hold until my knee recovers), I try to get in a few hours of paintball, another sport I've dabbled in since I was 13. It's always a great way to get rid of some stress before Monday begins. I've also taken anNMU course on wbsite construction and have built this site myself while balancing school and training. I love to keep myself very busy with projects and I dive completely into almost everything I get into. I also enjoy taking out time, when I can, to meet and connect with my fans through social media ( Facebook, Twitter, Ustream, Formspring, and Youtube).
